BIG UPS WITH DARRELL D FROM JAMILLE RECORDS

This is an interview I did for Dj Prestige over at Flea Market Funk for his "Big Ups"  series where he interviews Dj's from all over the world. You can check out his entire website here:  https://fleamarketfunk.com

This interview was posted on 4-17-12. Please enjoy!

Jamille Records chief Darrell D is a modest guy. Perhaps you may have never ever heard of this label based out of Phoenix, Arizona? Now is as good as a time as ever to get into Jamille. A digger of all things funky and a reissuer of 80’s Hip Hop tracks on 7, Darrell D has reissued records from Milwaukee’s long lost Hip Hop scene to a 13 minute cultural journey that was a cassette only Run DMC release in a Johnson Jheri Curl kit in ’85, and more. Focusing on the old school and mainly 80’s and 90’s Hip Hop (straight out of Milwaukee and then some) Darrell D keeps a low profile, but has had some pretty impressive releases to date. I’m happy to have him in this week’s Big Ups. This guy is the real deal and the textbook definition of the word digger. Big Ups to my man Darrell D.

Keep digging!
